Cassowary (Southern cassowary, Casuarius casuarius) is a species of Australian flightless bird. It has black feather, red throat, and blue head and neck without feather. The most unique point is a big brown casque on its head. It is a second heaviest bird on the earth. The biggest record is 1.9m tall and 85 kg weight.

Cassowary lives in Indonesia, New Guinea, and northeastern Australia. It lives on the ground in tropical rainforests.
Cassowary eats fruits and small animals like insects. Its main dishes are fruits. It likes fruits. But it sometimes catch small animals.
Female cassowary is bigger and stronger than male. A female lays eggs, and a male takes care of them. It is very rare in birds.

Cassowary has blade-like claws on earth of its second toes. Its kick with them is very terrible. It is known as “the most dangerous bird in the world”.
